Andrea Bowers on Art and Activism

We meet Andrea Bowers, an artist from Ohio who's based in Los Angeles, to talk about her passion for addressing social and political issues. Curators of two international biennials in North America selected her work for their 2014 exhibitions. Her Courtroom Drawings appear in l'Avenir, the inaugural Montreal Biennial. Two of Bowers's projects concerning environmental activism are on view in Unsettled Landscapes at SITE Santa Fe.

Fresh Talk: Sarah Lewis

In this episode, Sarah Lewis, a scholar, writer and curator, talks with Cathy Byrd about issues and ideas that inform her curatorial practice. Sarah's latest project involved selecting artists Leslie Hewitt, Jacco Olivier and Mike Osborne for the Artpace San Antonio 12.2 International Artists in Residence program. Active internationally, Sarah has held positions at the Tate Modern and the Museum of Modern Art, and was a co-curator of the 2010 SITE Santa Fe Biennial exhibition the dissolve.
